Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes peeled and cut into 1/4-inch thick fries
  • 2 olive oil
  • 1 salt
  • 1/2 black pepper
  • 1/2 paprika optional, for added flavor

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula or tongs for flipping

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika until evenly coated. Arrange the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they don't overlap.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through cooking, until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your perfectly baked sweet potato fries!

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For extra crispiness, soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking to remove excess starch.
• Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
• Serve with a dip like garlic aioli or sriracha mayo for an extra flavor boost.
Food Safety:
• Ensure sweet potatoes are cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for food safety.
• Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
