Equipment

  • Crockpot or slow cooker
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons and cups

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite brand
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot. In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the beef, ensuring it's evenly coated. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For best results, let the beef rest in the sauce for 30 minutes after cooking before shredding
• Avoid over-shredding the beef to maintain texture
• Serve on buns for a classic BBQ sandwich or over rice for a different twist
Food Safety:
• Ensure the beef reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) before serving
• Store leftovers in the refrigerator within two hours of cooking
