Equipment

  • Crock Pot
  • Large skillet
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.75 ounces
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 ounces egg noodles cooked according to package instructions

Instructions

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef stew meat and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer the beef to the Crock Pot.
  • In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Transfer the onion and garlic to the Crock Pot.
  • Add the beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper to the Crock Pot. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  • Cover the Crock Pot and cook on low for 6 hours, or until the beef is tender and the flavors have melded together.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain the noodles and set aside.
  • Once the beef tips are done, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve the beef tips and gravy over the cooked egg noodles.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a thicker gravy, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir it into the Crock Pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
• Avoid overcooking the noodles, as they can become mushy when combined with the hot gravy.
• Serve with a side of steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
Food Safety:
• Ensure the beef reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) before serving.
• Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
