Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.
- Unroll the cinnamon rolls and press them into the bottom and up the sides of the pie dish to form a crust. Reserve the icing for later use.
- Pour the apple mixture into the cinnamon roll crust, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes. Drizzle the reserved icing over the top before serving.
Notes
Chef's Tips:
• For a crisper crust, pre-bake the cinnamon roll crust for 10 minutes before adding the filling.
• Avoid overmixing the apple filling to prevent it from becoming too mushy.
• Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
Food Safety:
• Ensure apples are thoroughly washed before peeling and slicing.
• Store leftovers in the refrigerator and consume within 3 days.
