Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings split into drumettes and flats
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese freshly grated for best flavor
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Mixing bowls
  • Tongs for handling wings

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving crispy wings. Arrange the wings on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  3. Bake the wings for 25 minutes, then flip them and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  4. While the wings are baking, prepare the garlic Parmesan sauce. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Once the wings are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the garlic Parmesan sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Return the coated wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5 minutes to set the sauce.
  7. Remove the wings from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For extra crispiness, you can broil the wings for the last 2-3 minutes of baking, but watch them closely to avoid burning.
• Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet; this ensures even cooking and crispiness.
• Serve these wings with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for a classic pairing.
Food Safety:
• Ensure chicken wings reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) to guarantee they are safe to eat.
• Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
