Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 9x13 inch baking pan

Method
 

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth. This should take about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated. Work swiftly to avoid the mixture setting too early.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Use a spatula or your hands (lightly greased) to press the mixture evenly into the pan.
  4. Allow the Rice Krispie Squares to cool at room temperature for about 20 minutes, or until set. Cut into 16 squares and serve.

Notes

• For a chewier texture, use fresh marshmallows and press the mixture lightly into the pan
• Avoid over-stirring the marshmallows to prevent them from becoming tough
